Embrace Your 2022 Winter Blues at Madison Beach Hotel

Madison Beach Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton hosts its annual Blues Fest Weekend March 11-12, 2022

Madison Beach Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, a AAA Four Diamond Award-winning boutique resort and Top Performer for the Hilton brand, hosts its annual Blues Fest Weekend March 11-12, 2022.

The blues-packed weekend begins Friday, March 11 with an unplugged show in The Wharf with Ramblin' Dan Stevens, 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. Free admission. Reservations required, food and beverage minimum applies. Reserve online or http://www.thewharfmadison.com/news/2022bluesfestival/.

On Saturday, March 12 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., budding guitarists can attend a Guitar Master Class with acclaimed singer, songwriter, and guitarist Jeff Pitchell. The class is $20 per person plus Eventbrite ticketing fees, limited to 12 attendees. Tickets at EventBrite.

That evening, the hotel will host a Bourbon and Beer Sampling (included with concert ticket purchase) in The Tasting Lounge beginning at 7 p.m. The Wharf Restaurant will feature a special blues menu all weekend. Secure your pre-show dinner online at www.thewharfmadison.com.

Saturday night, a live winter concert will be headlined by The Jake Kulak Band featuring blues legend Bob Margolin with special guest Jeff Pitchell.

The Jake Kulak Band brings a blend of modern and traditional guitar-driven blues and blues-rock to music lovers everywhere. The band represented Connecticut for four years at the International Blues Challenge Youth Showcase in Memphis, Tennessee. In 2018, they won the CT Blues Society Band Competition and performed at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2019. The band has been nominated for a New England Music Award in the "Best New Act of the Year” category and were one of six Boston-area bands to win the House of Blues emerging artist competition.

Boston native Bob Margolin was born in 1949. Inspired by Chuck Berry, he started playing guitar at age 15 and immediately started performing in local rock and blues bands. Margolin played with Muddy Waters’ band from 1973 to 1980. He has played on several Grammy-winning recordings, won numerous W.C. Handy/Blues Music Awards for his playing and is a KBA Award recipient for Journalism. He has produced albums for numerous artists including Muddy’s son Big Bill Morganfield, Candye Kane, Pinetop Perkins, Mac Arnold, Ann Rabson and produced and consulted on reissues of Muddy Waters’ recordings for the Blue Sky Label for Sony/Legacy.

Jeff Pitchell is an internationally acclaimed singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He achieved national recognition when his album Heavy Hitter (Pyramid Records/EMI) reached #7 on the Billboard Charts, outselling Delbert McClinton, Robert Cray, Etta James, Johnny Lee Hooker & Muddy Waters. Jeff has recorded with such greats as J Geils, Rick Derringer, Dave Mason, James Cotton and Clarence Clemons. He received international recognition when he toured Europe, even playing with the Commitments as a special guest.

Doors open at 8 p.m. with the concert starting at 8:30 p.m. and playing until 10:30 p.m. The 21+ concert is general admission with limited seating and a cash bar.

A Saturday afternoon matinee will be shown at Madison Cinemas in partnership with Madison Beach Hotel, featuring the original, classic, “Blues Brothers” with Jim Belushi and Dan Ackroyd.
