Field Hockey Voters Select Their Final Top 10

A third consecutive Class L championship in dominating fashion made Staples High School the top choice among all voters in the final field hockey coaches poll for 2018.

The Wreckers, whose only blemish all season was a 2-1 loss to Darien in the FCIAC tournament finals, came back to roll through the state bracket, ending in convincing fashion by not allowing top-seeded Cheshire a single shot on goal during a 2-0 title victory Sunday at Wethersfield High School.

Class S champion Immaculate was second in the balloting, while Cheshire wound up third.

Here are the top 10, plus all other teams receiving votes.
