Final Statewide Coaches Field Hockey Poll Names Top Teams In CT
A panel of coaches has selected the top high school field hockey teams in the state.
CONNECTICUT — After knocking off FCIAC rival and top-seeded Darien 3-1 in the Class L field hockey finals last weekend, it was inevitable that Staples would earn the top spot in the final year-end poll of coaches from across the state.
Top the poll is exactly what the Wreckers did, and in unanimous fashion, earning first-place votes from all eight coaches to easily outdistance the runner-up Blue Wave. Class M winner Daniel Hand and three-time Class S champion North Branford finished third and fourth, respectively.
Here are the top 10, as well as all other schools earning support.
