Fire Kills 2 Adults, Hospitalizes Infant In Waterbury: Reports

A fire at a multi-story home left two people dead and an infant in the hospital.

WATERBURY, CT — A fire that broke out in a Waterbury home Wednesday morning resulted in the deaths of two adults and the hospitalization of an infant, according to WTNH News-8. Firefighters pulled a man, a woman, and an infant from a three-story house on 3rd Street.

Emergency crews performed CPR on the three people who were then transported to the hospital. The two adults were pronounced dead. The infant, who is about one year old, is at Yale New Haven Hospital, WTNH News-8 reported.

The man was in his 40s and the woman was in her 30s. The connection between the two adults and the infant is unclear, according to FOX 61.

The upper floor of the 3rd Street building suffered significant damage, but the lower floors were mostly undamaged. Waterbury's fire marshal is investigating what led to the blaze, FOX 61 reported.
