Fundraising Tournament Will Showcase Golfers' Charitabili-tee

Ability Beyond challenges area golfers to demonstrate their chari-tee during the nonprofit’s immensely successful Annual Golf Championship. This year’s tournament will take place Monday, Sept. 11 at Centennial Golf Club in Carmel, N.Y.

The Annual Golf Championship is one of Ability Beyond’s largest fundraisers, attracting close to 150 golfers each year. Proceeds will help Ability Beyond provide critical supports – including home care and job training – to more than 3,000 people with disabilities in Connecticut and New York.

“Last year’s stellar event was a shining example of what can be accomplished by strong volunteer involvement and commitment,” said Jane Davis, President and CEO of Ability Beyond. “Thanks to the leadership of Saurin Shah and the dedicated Golf Committee we were able to raise over $67,000.”

This event will be Scramble format to encourage participation from all levels of players. Ability Beyond has designed the event to be fun and enjoyable without the pressure of individual scoring. The cost is $300 for an individual golfer and $1500 for a foursome. For non-golfers who still want to participate, dinner including open bar is $75. Deadline for registration isSeptember 4. In addition to a great day of the golf, attendees will enjoy a silent auction, hole-in-one prizes, awards for the top three teams and more! The day kicks off with registration at 11:00 am followed by:

· 11:30 a.m. – Lunch

· 12:30 p.m. – Shotgun Start

· 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. – Cocktails and Awards Presentation
