Girls Basketball State Tournament Pairings Announced

CONNECTICUT — The journey to the Mohegan Sun Arena officially kicks off Monday, as pairings for the five Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) girls basketball tournaments were released Wednesday morning.

The home of the WNBA's Connecticut Sun will play host to the state finals on March 18 and 19.

A total of 44 schools from Hartford and Tolland counties have qualified for one of the five divisional tournaments. The top seeds among area teams are Bolton (No. 1 in Class S), Ellington (No. 2 in Class MM), E.O. Smith (No. 3 in Class L) and Somers (No. 3 in Class S).

East Hartford (Class LL) is the only area team seeking to repeat its 2022 championship.
