Girls Soccer State Tournament Pairings Released; 32 Area Teams Qualify

CONNECTICUT — A total of 32 high school girls soccer teams from Hartford and Tolland counties will be competing for state titles beginning next week, as the CIAC released its four state tournament brackets Friday.

East Catholic is the only team from the region which captured a state crown last season, winning Class S. The Eagles moved up two divisions this year, and are seeded 16th in Class L.

Area teams receiving top seeds are Berlin (Class L) and Suffield (M). Other earning top 5 berths are Northwest Catholic (No. 2, L), Granby (No. 3, M), Somers (No. 3, S), Simsbury (No. 4, L) and Lewis Mills (No. 5, M).

First-round games are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 6. Here are the initial matchups involving teams from Hartford and Tolland counties. Click the class headers for complete brackets.
