CT Weather: Feels Like 100 Degrees Tuesday, Severe Storm Chance
The National Weather Service said Connecticut may see severe weather Tuesday. Here are more details on when that may occur.
CONNECTICUT — The heat and humidity we've been dealing with for the past several days shows no quit, at least for now.
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook and a heat advisory for all of Connecticut Tuesday. Temps will climb once again into the mid 90s and it may feel hotter than 100 degrees too.
There is also a chance for thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, though that appears to be more isolated. And if we get a storm it won't really cool things down as temps will remain above 90 degrees on Wednesday too.

Temps begin to dip below 90 on Thursday but it will still be warm with temps into the upper 80s. There is a slight chance of storms on Thursday too.
WTNH News 8 Chief Meteorologist Gil Simmons said, "Sunny and very warm through early afternoon! I am expecting the heat index or how it feels outside to get all the way up between 95° and 105° today. Make sure you are drinking some water! Please pay attention this afternoon there could be a couple of severe thunderstorms moving through. A strong wind gust would be the main threat!"

Southern Connecticut forecast details:
A heat advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday. "The Storm Prediction Center has placed the entire area in a marginal risk for severe storms today and tonight. The primary threat would be damaging winds."
The heat index Tuesday may make it feel like 102 degrees. "Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur."
Forecast details:
Today: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Increasing clouds, with a high near 96. Heat index values as high as 102. Southwest wind 3 to 8 mph.
Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. Light and variable wind.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.
Northern Connecticut forecast details:
A heat advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday as it may feel like 99 degrees.
"A few strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible today, mainly between 2 to 10 PM EDT. The main threats are damaging winds and downpours, with a lower risk for hail.
Forecast details:
Today: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 3pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 3pm and 4pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Increasing clouds, with a high near 95. Southwest wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 93. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.
