Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms Thursday: CT Weather Forecast
The state could see up to two inches of badly needed rain today.
CONNECTICUT — The state may see one to two inches of rain on Thursday and early Friday before nice, drier weather moves in and then more rain is expected on Sunday.
If you have weekend plans, hopefully it is on Saturday.
As for now, it will be a cloudy, rainy day and the heaviest rain is forecast for the afternoon and evening hours. There is a chance for isolated thunderstorms too across the state. With much of Connecticut still way behind in its rainfall for 2020 the predicted one to two inches of precipitation will be very beneficial as we try and put a dent into that.

The National Weather Service said to expect "Cloudy, humid conditions dominate today as widespread showers and thunderstorms overspread the area as a cold front approaches from the west. Localized heavy rainfall will be possible by Thursday afternoon and evening, before tapering off early Friday morning. Highs today will be in the mid to upper 70s with lows on Friday morning in the mid to upper 60s.
"The cold front will push east of the area on Friday morning as drier and less humid air begins to filter into the region. Clearing skies with sunshine return by Friday afternoon with highs in the low to mid 70s."

The highs on Saturday will only be around 70 degrees, which is a sign that fall is right around the corner.
