How To: CT Election Day Voter Registration
Haven't gotten the chance to register to vote? It's not too late in Connecticut.

HARTFORD, CT — Connecticut voters are heading to the polls in droves in what is shaping up to be one of the largest turnout midterm elections in recent memory. Those who haven't gotten around to register to vote or change their address can still do so thanks to Connecticut's Election Day Registration.
Voters in Connecticut have been encountering long lines in what resembles a presidential election year more than a midterm election. In Connecticut all eyes are on the governor's race with Democrat Ned Lamont and Republican Bob Stefanowski virtually tied in the polls. Voters also get to decide on several statewide races, U.S. Senate, a congressional race and General Assembly races. Also on the ballot are two yes or no questions for proposed state constitutional amendments.
Election Day registration isn't available at a normal polling place, but is at a designated EDR location in each town. Those who register Tuesday will vote at the EDR location.

Prospective Election Day registration voters fill out a registration form and must provide proof of identity and residency. A state driver's license provides both assuming it is listed under a current address.
The Secretary of the State office recommends that those looking to register to vote today arrive early as the process takes longer than regular voting and there is often a line to wait. Voters must be fully registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote. Unlike regular voting being in line when the clock strikes eight doesn't guarantee a ballot.
