Town-By-Town Snow Totals Released While Another Major Storm Emerges For Us
As the snow ends, another significant storm is on the way for Connecticut. Here are the latest details on when and what to expect.
CONNECTICUT — More than a foot of snow fell in far northern sections of Connecticut, while some areas along the immediate coast saw very little snow accumulation. (See below for town-by-town snow totals).
While the snow has ended, we're facing another significant storm on Tuesday, and Connecticut could end up with several inches of rain this time. Thunderstorms and wind gusts in excess of 50 mph are possible too on Tuesday night. And more rain is forecast for Friday and Saturday.
"Tuesday, cloud cover increases as another storm system approaches," WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said. "By late in the day, rain develops and moves in across the state. Some of the high elevations may see a brief period of wintry mix, but strong southerly wind will rapidly pull warmer air into CT.

"As of now, we expect heavier rain into Wednesday morning, accompanied by a gusty wind," WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said." Early outlooks show the potential for 2″ or more with gusts approaching or even exceeding 40 mph. This will also be falling atop the snow from Winter Storm Aspen. As such, the Weather Prediction Center is already highlighting all of Connecticut for potential flooding."(Read/watch more at WFSB 3 TV).
The National Weather Service said the rain should begin Tuesday afternoon, and it should end on Wednesday morning. Wind gusts may approach 40 mph on Wednesday.

A hazardous weather outlook has already been issued for southern Connecticut.
"A storm system likely brings a period of heavy rain to the region Tuesday into Wednesday. Given the saturated soils, elevated streamflows, and a melting snowpack, urban and poor drainage flooding appears likely, with significant river flooding possible," the weather service said.
