Infant Dies When Tree Falls On CT Woman's Car: DA
A 23-year-old woman sustained serious injuries in the accident, which happened in Massachusetts, authorities said.
SOUTHWICK, MA — A Connecticut infant was killed Friday when a tree fell on a car carrying her and her aunt, authorities said.
Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni said the incident happened shortly before noon on Feeding Hills Road in Southwick, Massachusetts. According to Gulluni, strong winds caused the tree to fall and crush the vehicle.
The driver, a 23-year-old woman from Winsted, sustained serious injuries, according to authorities. After firefighters freed her from the vehicle, she was taken to Baystate Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities did not identify the woman or the infant. The baby was also from Winsted, WTNH reported.
Southwick police and Massachusetts State Police are investigating.
