CONNECTICUT — Defending Class L champion Darien received first-place nods from all but one voter in the inaugural Connecticut high school field hockey coaches poll of the season.

The Blue Wave collected seven top votes, with Ridgefield garnering the other No. 1 selection to place second in the balloting.

Here are the top 10, with first-place votes in parentheses, as well as all other teams receiving consideration.
