Town records show the property’s most recent owners had been Paul and Sally Cash.
The medical examiner’s office has been working with state and local police, and the State's Forensic Science Laboratory to identify the three people.
Their skeletal remains were found in a local house at 7 Stanwich Lane on June 14, according to state police.
A new homebuyer, who had purchased the structure “as is” at a foreclosure auction, found the remains, state police said.
State police have said they do not suspect foul play.
The Cash family had purchased the property in 2019, town records show.
A mortgage foreclosure action had been initiated against them in August 2025, according to state Judicial Branch records, and the family failed to appear during the proceedings, court records show.
Detectives from the Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime Squad are investigating the case.
