Regal Cinemas In Waterbury Closes For Good: Report
The international corporation that owns the cinema is mulling bankruptcy, according to CNN.
WATERBURY, CT — Those looking to catch a movie at one Waterbury movie theater will have to find another place to go.
The Regal Cinemas at Waterbury's Brass Mill Center has now closed, according to WFSB Channel 3.
Phone calls to that cinema were directed to a general information line while Regal's company website no longer lists Waterbury as a Connecticut location.

Regal is an American-based theater chain with hundreds of facilities in the country. The only two Connecticut sites listed on Regal's website are in Stonington and Waterford.
Regal is a subsidiary of Cineworld, which is a United Kingdom-based theater group that owns facilities throughout the UK and Europe, as well as in Israel.

No reason has been given for the closure, but CNN Business reported last month that Cineworld is considering filing for bankruptcy, citing lingering pandemic impacts that shuttered movie theaters for an extended period of time worldwide.
