CONNECTICUT — M&T Bank officials Tuesday sent out a reminder that the online and mobile banking transition for People's United customers will take effect Sept. 6.

Instructions were emailed to those with transitioning accounts.

M&T officials are suggesting that customers know their People's United Bank user ID and password, customers confirm that e-mail and contact information are up-to-date online and customers should save or print recent online statements and documents.

For checking accounts, a minimum of 60 days worth of People’s United transaction history will be available initially. Additional transaction history will be available as soon as possible, officials said.

Customers needing to update any bill payments or transfers should make arrangements prior to Sept. 2, officials said. After Sept. 2, customers will not be able to schedule, update or edit any bill payments or transfers until M&T mobile and online banking become available Sept. 6.

As of 5 p.m. on Sept. 2, customers will no longer be able to access People's United online or mobile banking. M&T mobile and online banking will become available on Sept. 6. Log-in instructions will be emailed.

On Sept. 6, customers will be able to log in to M&T mobile or online banking using their People's United User IDs and passwords. The People's United "password" will be referred to as a "passcode" at M&T, officials said.

When M&T mobile and online banking become available on Sept. 6, customers will be able to log in and verify account balances, settings, payments and transfers, officials said.
