CT Weather: Improving Labor Day Weekend Forecast

Here are the new details on the upcoming holiday weekend weather forecast for Connecticut.

Well this is change we can all get behind. The Labor Day weekend weather forecast for Connecticut is looking a lot better than it initially appeared. There may be a chance of a rain shower or two this weekend but now more sun is expected and both Saturday and Labor Day look very good with sun and dry weather.

Sunday appears to be a bit unstable with isolated rain showers in the morning but then drying out quickly for the afternoon. And if we cheat and look ahead to Tuesday, well it looks like another heatwave may be in our future.

The National Weather Service says Friday that "a trough of low pressure may cause a few showers (Friday and Saturday) ... The better overall chances of showers will be today, so there is a chance that everyone could end up rain-free on Saturday. High temperatures both days will range mostly 75-80."

Temps will moderate beginning on Sunday and on Labor Day but we should be below 90 degrees all weekend. The National Weather Service says for Northern Connecticut that "There is the possibility that Heat Advisories may be needed at times for portions of southern New England next week." WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons said, "The less humid air will feel good all day today with lots of clouds and some breaks of sunshine. High temperatures will be in the 70s to around 80. Nice sunshine tomorrow 75 to 80. The humidity goes back up on Sunday with more clouds & a sprinkle possible. Hot weather returns for Labor Day and much of next week!"
