Man Charged In Fatal New Fairfield Stabbing: Police

A man is being held on $1,000,000 bond in connection with a fatal stabbing.

NEW FAIRFIELD, CT — A Danbury man was charged in connection with a fatal stabbing in New Fairfield on Saturday night, according to state police. Police were dispatched to 2 Hillview Drive East in New Fairfield on a report of an active assault at 10:22 p.m.

The victim, James Knapp, 65, was transported to Danbury Hospital with a stab wound to the chest. He was later pronounced deceased.

Patrick Griffin, 59, was also transported to Danbury Hospital where he was later taken into custody by police.

He was charged with first-degree manslaughter. Griffin was held on $1,000,000 bond. He will appear in Danbury Superior Court on Monday.
