Man Found Dead After Tree Falls During Thunderstorm In CT: Reports

WILLIMANTIC, CT — A man is dead after a tree fell on him Wednesday night in Willimantic, according to NBC CT. The tree fell during a severe thunderstorm and hit the victim, who was in his 50s.

The incident happened in the 100 block of Union St. Firefighters were dispatched around 10:40 p.m., WFSB 3-TV reported.

The victim, who has not been identified, was a pedestrian who was struck on the street.

Firefighters stabilized the tree and used a chainsaw to get the victim, which took about 10 minutes.
