Man Seriously Burned, CT House Destroyed In 'Suspicious' Fire: Police

The fire was reported on Quaddick Town Farm Road in Thompson just before 11 p.m. Wednesday.

THOMPSON, CT — Connecticut State Police are investigating a 'suspicious' fire that destroyed a home in Thompson Wednesday night.

The fire was reported on Quaddick Town Farm Road just before 11 p.m., after which detectives determined that the fire was "suspicious in nature," according to Connecticut State Police.

Early Thursday morning, a man with serious burn injuries was found 200 feet into the woods on the property, police said. He has been taken to the hospital for treatment.

"This is all the information we have available for release at this time," according to state police. "The investigation is still active and ongoing and further information will be released as it becomes available."

Police added that "the area surrounding the scene has been cordoned off" for the investigation.
