Mitchell College recognizes Breast Cancer Awareness Month with

Mitchell College will hold its second annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on Sunday, October 22, 2017.

New London, CT- 10/6/17- Mitchell College will hold its 2nd annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on Sunday, October 22 at 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among women; breast cancer also does not discriminate on the basis of gender. Pre-registration for the event can be found on Eventbrite.com; registration is $5 for Mitchell students/staff and is $10 for the general public. Registering prior to the event is recommended as registration will be increased to $15 the day of the walk.

The event will feature Mitchell’s own Dr. Denise Braley as a guest speaker. A 20-year cancer survivor, Braley would like to challenge her students and colleagues to come out and walk with her to raise awareness and support research to save lives.

Fighting Chance Cancer Awareness Street Monster Truck, a traveling Chevrolet Silverado created by Joe Carilli Jr. to help promote cancer awareness, will be at the event.

Check in for the event will begin outside the Clarke Center at 10 AM, T shirts will be sold both online with registration and the day of the event for $8. The first 50 people to register online will receive a free T- shirt.

All proceeds will go to the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation. The walk itself will begin at 11 a.m. and be a two mile walk by the water.
