More Than 10,000 Were Without Power In Connecticut [UPDATED]
Several towns in the northern part of Tolland County were hit particularly hard by the first significant snowfall of the season Saturday.

CONNECTICUT — More than 10,000 Eversource Energy customers in Connecticut were reported without power by mid-afternoon Saturday, as a wet snowfall blanketed much of the state.
Three towns along the Route 190 corridor in the northern part of Tolland County were hit particularly hard. At 3:30 p.m. in the tiny town of Union, 384 customers, or 84 percent, were without power, while neighboring Stafford had 5,194 outages, or 82 percent. Willington had 1,077 outages, or 36 percent, while Ashford had 696 customers without power, Tolland 624, Somers 381 and Lebanon 307.
Nine other towns in the state reported more than 100 outages as of 3:30 p.m.: Colchester, Columbia, Coventry, Glastonbury, Granby, Killingworth, Redding, Salem and Waterford.

By 5:45 p.m., the total customers still in the dark had been cut nearly in half to 5,845. Willington was up to 1,269, or 42 percent, but Stafford was down to 1,108, or 17 percent, and Union had dropped to 97, or 21 percent. Somers had increased to 586 customers.
Joining the list were Vernon with 338 outages, Woodstock with 198 and Eastford with 106. Other towns still with 100 or more were Columbia, Coventry, Glastonbury, Lebanon and Tolland.
