Motorcyclist Dies After Crash With School Bus In Torrington: Reports

No students were on the bus at the time of the crash, according to multiple reports.

TORRINGTON, CT — A motorcyclist died after a crash with a school bus early Wednesday morning in Torrington, according to multiple reports.

WTNH News 8 reports the motorcyclist was airlifted to Hartford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

In an update Thursday, police identified the motorcyclist as Zachary Zecchin, 24, of Winsted, according to WFSB 3.

The crash happened around 6:15 a.m. at the intersection of Torringford Street and Greenwoods Road, according to WTNH News 8.

No students were on the bus at the time of the crash, and the bus driver wasn’t injured, NBC Connecticut reported.

News12 Connecticut reported that the area was closed for about four hours while police were at the scene investigating the crash.
