New Proposal Would Limit Number Of Self-Checkouts At Grocery Stores: Report

The proposal is pending before the legislature.

A new proposal in the legislature is aiming to curb the number of self-checkout lanes at grocery stores to eight, NBC CT reports.

Also, the bill would require one worker for every two self-checkouts to monitor the stations, and it would also require one staffed checkout for every two self-checkouts, as reported by NBC CT.

There is strong debate on the proposal from both unions and grocery store officials.
