Officially named Avery's Beverages, the iconic soda maker can be traced back to the summer of 1904, when Sherman F. Avery began practicing his craft in the red barn.
Avery's quickly made a name for itself, particularly with cream soda, birch beer, root beer, and ginger ale. It was delivered by horse-and-cart for the first decade before Mr. Avery broke down and bought a truck.
As of July 2025, production and operations moved to a new facility at 1 Hartford Square in New Britain, following a sale.
