Pairings Released For CIAC Boys Basketball State Tournaments

CONNECTICUT — The journey to the Mohegan Sun Arena officially kicks off later this week, as pairings for the five Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) boys basketball tournaments were released Wednesday morning.

The home of the WNBA's Connecticut Sun will play host to the state finals on March 18 and 19.

A total of 41 schools from Hartford and Tolland counties have qualified for one of the five divisional tournaments. The top seeds among area teams are East Catholic (No. 1 in Div. I), Bloomfield (No. 1 in Div. III), Windsor Locks (No. 1 in Div. V) and Northwest Catholic (No. 2 in Div. I).

East Catholic (Div. I), Bristol Central (Div. II) and Bloomfield (Div. IV) all won state championships in 2022. Bristol Central has moved up to Div. I, while Bloomfield is now in Div. III.
