Popular Connecticut News Anchor Leaving Station: Report

Fox61 News anchor Elisha Machado told her fans on Twitter that this was her last week at the station.

CONNECTICUT — Good wishes flooded social media Thursday following a popular news anchor's announcement that she would be leaving her job.

Fox61 News anchor Elisha Machado told her fans on Twitter that this was her last week at the station.

"Feeling grateful to have met so many wonderful people and share your stories in Connecticut," Machado posted, thanking her fans for their "messages and support" during her tenure at the station.

Machado as been a reporter and fill-in anchor for Fox61 for a year-and-a-half, according to her LinkedIn profile. She joined the Hartford-based news operation from KION NewsChannel5 in Salinas, CA in May 2019. Prior to that she tooled around the Boston area, following her graduation from Boston University in 2017.

The on-air personality was coy with clues about where she was heading after her Fox61 gig, saying only that her "journey in news will continue. Announcement coming soon!"
