Propane Tank Explosion Leaves Person Hospitalized In Griswold: Reports

GRISWOLD, CT — A propane tank explosion left one person hospitalized in Griswold on Monday evening, according to WFSB 3-TV.

Crews responded to the area of Bitgood Road following a report of an explosion at 6:03 p.m.

The fire department was working on a propane tank explosion on Nowakowski Road that involved a vehicle fully engulfed in flames, according to NBC CT.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze.

State police investigators found that the explosion was due to unsecured propane tank in a pickup truck bed.

A person who suffered burns was taken to a nearby hospital.
