Redding Police Chief Is Expected to Resign
Chief Fuchs has been on paid administrative leave since October.

REDDING, CT — Members of the Board of Selectman voted unanimously Friday to accept the tentative resignation of Police Chief Doug Fuchs, The News Times is reporting.
Fuchs has been on paid administrative leave since October after the estate of Peter Valenti filed a lawsuit against the police and town officials claiming that Fuchs and other officers violated protocol when responding to Valenti’s suicide in April 2016.
In a special meeting held Friday afternoon at Town Hall, the Board of Selectmen accepted Fuchs' resignation subject to the terms discussed during executive session. The terms of that agreement are to be made public once the document is executed.
