Ridgefield Music And Art On Display

'Music and Art in the Park' is at Ballard Park on June 19 Sunday, while 'Make Music Ridgefield' is all throughout town Tuesday, June 21.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Whether you can carry a tune or not, you can still enjoy the melodious tones of fine music in Ridgefield this weekend and early into next week.

And if you draw stick figures or can give the late Bob Ross a run for his money, this weekend is for you too.

On Sunday, June 19, at Ballard Park, 485 Main St., the Ridgefield Arts Council is hosting an edition of "Music and Art in the Park" from noon to 7 p.m.

This early summer soiree will feature various local musicians and artists and it stands to transform Ballard into a cornucopia of culture.

Expected to perform are "School of Rock," the "Brian Butler Quartet," "3PO," the "Scott Robert Trio," "Tony & the Westsiders" and Dan Moriarty.

In addition to all the music, local visual artists will set up should throughout the park and showcase their wares.

The fun, however, won't end with the weekend.

On Tuesday, June 21, the Ridgefield Arts Council will be celebrating the official start of summer — the Summer Solstice — with "Make Music Ridgefield."

This event takes place all day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at various locations around town.

Among the venues, according to the Town of Ridgefield, are Ridgefield Town Hall, the Ridgefield Library, the Lounsbury House, Keeler Tavern, The Lantern, the RPAC Gallery, the Aldrich Contemporary Museum and more.

The event is a local celebration of National Make Music Day, which designates June 21 as a day to celebrate the artistic endeavors of musicians worldwide.
