Seasonal Halloween Chain Back For 2026 With Big Presence In Connecticut

CONNECTICUT — Spirit Halloween is returning to Connecticut for the 2026 Halloween season in force, with the company’s store locator listing locations in 17 communities across the state.

The seasonal retailer sells Halloween costumes, decorations, animatronics, accessories and other merchandise, including licensed costumes based on movies, television shows, video games and pop culture.

Spirit Halloween also offers online ordering with pickup at participating Connecticut stores.

Some locations, including Bristol, Milford, Torrington and Enfield, had already opened this week. Additional stores are slated to open as the month progresses.

The company typically picks up short-term leases at locations with heavy retail traffic.

The 2026 Connecticut locations listed by Spirit Halloween are:

• Middletown: 416 E. Main St. — former Bob's Stores (Clothing not furniture).
• Milford: 1405 Boston Post Road — former JoAnn.
• Newington: 3087 Berlin Turnpike — former Party City.
• North Haven: 63 Washington Ave.
• Norwich: 42 Town St. — former Big Lots.

According to a company profile, Spirit Halloween was founded in 1983 by Joseph Marver, who owned a dress shop in California. What started out as a single, temporary costume shop has evolved into the largest seasonal Halloween retailer in North America with 1,500-plus stores popping up in late summer and operating into the fall.
