Sexual Assault Reported At State Park In CT

KILLINGLY — The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s (DEEP) Environmental Conservation Police (EnCon) are currently investigating an incident that occurred overnight at Quinebaug Lake State Park in Killingly.

On 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, EnCon Police were notified by Connecticut State Police Troop D of a sexual assault reported to have occurred in the area of the park’s boat launch

Quinebaug Lake State Park was closed for the investigation this morning and reopened at approximately 3:30 p.m.

This is an ongoing investigation, and more information will be released when available, state officials said. There is no threat to the public, officials said.
