Southington, Ellington/Tolland, Daniel Hand Win Gymnastics Team Titles
Two established programs and a brand-new co-op team won championships at the divisional meets Saturday in Milford.

MILFORD, CT — Results of the three CIAC divisional gymnastics championships Saturday at Jonathan Law High School were a total mix of the established guard and a fresh new face emerging in Class M.
Southington claimed the Class L title for the 10th time since 2005, compiling 135.70 points to edge runner-up Staples, which had 133.80. In Class S, Daniel Hand extended its own record by coasting to the class crown for the second straight year, with 143.075 points to 131.75 for Oxford. It was the Tigers' 20th overall divisional championship, and their sixth in Class S.
The big surprise was a first-year co-op program, Ellington/Tolland, which beat out last year's Class M runner-up, Fairfield Warde, and defending class and State Open champion Woodstock Academy, which had amassed 11 class championships and eight State Open titles since 2011.
