State Cross Country Championships Rescheduled
Threatening weather predicted for Saturday has prompted CIAC officials to change the date of the class meets.
MANCHESTER, CT — Due to a forecast of inclement weather, the CIAC Cross Country Championship class meets originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 27 at Wickham Park in Manchester have been moved to Friday, Oct. 26 at the same venue, CIAC officials said Wednesday.
The latest forecast for Manchester from the National Weather Service calls for an 80 percent chance of rain Saturday, while Friday's outlook is mostly sunny with a high temperature near 48.
"The decision is being made with the safety of the student athletes in mind with the possibility for weather conditions impacting the course and competition on Saturday," officials said in a written statement.

The race times and schedule for all 12 divisional races will be the same on Friday as scheduled on Saturday.

- 10:20 a.m., LL boys

- 11:55 a.m., S girls
- 1 p.m., SS boys
- 1:30 p.m., SS girls

- 2:35 p.m., M girls
- 3:10 p.m., MM boys
- 3:40 p.m., MM girls
