Top Teams Ranked In Final Girls Soccer Coaches Poll

Ridgefield and Lewis Mills high schools have been deemed the top high school girls soccer teams in Connecticut, according to the season's final coaches poll.

Ridgefield won its second consecutive Class LL championship by defeating Staples 1-0 Sunday at West Haven High School. The Tigers were a unanimous top choice of all coaches voting in the LL-L poll, with Staples finishing second and Glastonbury third.

Lewis Mills captured its first Class M title, going into overtime to take down Plainfield 2-1 Sunday, also at West Haven. The Spartans received top nods from six of seven voters in Classes M-S, with Class S champion Old Lyme garnering the other first-place vote to wind up second. Plainfield came in third in the balloting.

Here are the top 10 in each category, with first-place votes in parentheses, plus all other teams receiving votes.
