TV Meteorologist — A CT Native — Returns Home To Join Local Station

Scott Gagliardi had been working in Florida before taking a new job in Connecticut.

CONNECTICUT — Scott Gagliardi, a Connecticut native who had been working in Florida the last few years, has joined WFSB-TV's team of meteorologists, he announced on Facebook.

"I'm excited to share that I've begun my new role as a meteorologist at WFSB, Channel 3 Eyewitness News!" Gagliardi wrote this week. "Today was my first day on-air, and I'm thrilled to be able to provide weather forecasts for my family, friends and all the residents of Connecticut."

According to his bio, Gagliardi will be a weekend meteorologist and a weekday reporter at WFSB.

Gagliardi optained a B.S. in Meteorology from Western Connecticut State University, and said it was hard leaving Connecticut to gain experience.

That journey took him to WCJB, TV20 News in Gainesville, Florida for a spell before landing the WFSB job.

"I'd like to express my sincerest gratitude to the colleagues and friends I made at WCJB, TV20 News in Gainesville, FL," Gagliardi said. "Their mentorship, guidance and friendships over the past two years were instrumental in my professional development and crucial to getting me to where I am today."

He dreamed of being an operational meteorologist, and has vivid memories of the force with which Tropical Storm Irene and Superstorm Sandy hit Connecticut, as well as the 2013 blizzard that dumped multiple feet of snow on the region.

In his spare time, Gagliardi enjoys playing with his rescue dog Jupiter, drone photography and kayaking.
