UConn Women To Face UMass-Lowell In Opener
The University of Connecticut women's basketball team will now open the 2020-21 season against UMass Lowell on Dec. 12.

STORRS, CT — The University of Connecticut women’s basketball team will now open the 2020-21 season against UMass-Lowell on Dec. 12, at Gampel Pavilion.
The Huskies are slated to come off a coronavirus quarantine on Dec. 8.
The Huskies and River Hawks will face off at 1 p.m. on SNY. An out-of-market streaming provider for SNY games (ESPN3 in previous years) will be announced at a later date.

It will be will be UConn and UMass-Lowell's first-ever meeting.
Here's what UConn coach Geno Aureimma said abut the two-week quarantine that ends next week:

- Neither a player or member of the coaching staff was the one testing positive. Auriemma said it was someone related to the program.
- The coaches are not quarantined.
- The players are and must stay within their "pods:" for two weeks.
- The players can work out in pods with negative tests, but team practices and games are on hold.
- Players are still being tested three times per week, according to NCAA Tier 1 guidelines and the state Department of Public Health.
