Veteran Anchor/Reporter Announces He Will Leave CT News Station
A reporter said in a social media post that he will leave a Connecticut news station after nearly five years.
CONNECTICUT — Veteran reporter and anchor Mike Massaro announced that he will be leaving NBC Connecticut.
Massaro tweeted the following: "It has been an amazing journey of reinvention at NBC Connecticut for nearly five years. I challenged myself to use my broadcasting skills in a different yet meaningful way and succeeded. However, I will be leaving the network at month’s end. Onward!"
Recent stories that Massaro reported on for the station include the opening of a Raising Cane's restaurant in Enfield and a planned drive-thru cannabis store in Manchester.

Massaro, a native of Manchester and an Emerson College graduate, has 20 years of experience as a sportscaster, covering the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.
Before joining NBC Connecticut, he spent many years covering auto racing. From 2009 to 2014, he was the host of NASCAR Now, a news and highlights show. He joined NBC Sports as a pit reporter for Sprint Cup and Xfinity Series racing in 2015 and 2016, according to his Wikipedia page.

He also worked as a reporter and producer for Inside NASCAR on TNN, and was as a reporter and anchor for ESPN and NBC Sports, according to his bio.
Last month, another NBC CT reporter announced she would be leaving. Siobhan McGirl a native of southern New Jersey, said she would be leaving NBC CT to join NBC10 Philadelphia. She spent the previous four years as the station's New London County reporter.
