Walter Camp Football Foundation Names All-Connecticut Teams
Fifty players were selected statewide, and three finalists each for player of the year and coach of the year were named.

Fifty of the state's best high school football players have been recognized with selection to the All-Connecticut teams by the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
As part of its 52nd annual Weekend festivities, the Foundation will host its 12th High School “Breakfast of Champions” on Saturday, Jan. 12 at the Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale. The event starts at 8:30 a.m.
The four Connecticut high school 2018 state champions – Greenwich (Class LL), Daniel Hand of Madison (Class L), St. Joseph of Trumbull (Class M) and Bloomfield (Class S) - will be recognized. In addition, members of the 2018 Walter Camp All-Connecticut Teams will be honored.

Finalists for the 2018 Coach of the Year are John Marinelli of Greenwich, David Mastroianni of Daniel Hand and Brian Mazzone of Stafford/East Windsor/Somers. The three finalists for the 2018 Player of the Year are Terrence Bogan of Sheehan, Ky’Juon Butler of Bloomfield and Gavin Muir of Greenwich.
Former West Haven head coach Ed McCarthy, who retired as the leading winner among state football coaches with 332 victories, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. McCarthy, a 2014 recipient of the prestigious Gold Key Award from the Connecticut Sports Writers' Alliance, coached 12 seasons at St. Joseph prior to 32 at West Haven, garnering seven state titles (three at St. Joseph, four at West Haven).
