TORRINGTON, CT — A man wanted by Torrington Police has agreed to turn himself in if the local department gets 15,000 likes on a Facebook post about him.

Jose Simms, 29, messaged police on Facebook. Police wanted the turn-in bar to be 10,000 likes while Simms wanted 20,000, so they agreed to split it down the middle. The post has more than 4,400 likes as of 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Simms skipped court dates and is wanted on multiple failure to appear warrants, according to police.
