2026 Dog Licenses In Avon, What You Need To Know
Avon dog owners can renew or obtain dog licenses through the town clerk's office.
AVON, CT — The Avon Town Clerk's Office began selling dog licenses for 2026 on June 1 and is reminding residents of state licensing requirements for dogs.
According to town officials, renewal notices have been mailed to residents who currently hold a 2025 dog license.
Dog owners are encouraged to review the rabies vaccination expiration date listed on their renewal notice.

If a rabies vaccination has expired, owners must provide updated documentation from their veterinarian showing the current expiration date before a license can be issued.
Residents licensing a dog for the first time must provide proof that the dog has been spayed or neutered, if applicable, along with documentation showing a current rabies vaccination.

Under Connecticut law, all dogs older than six months must be licensed.
