AVON, CT — The Town of Avon has opened two cooling centers for residents seeking relief from a stretch of hot and humid weather expected to continue through Saturday, June 13.
Town officials announced that the Avon Senior Center and Avon Free Public Library will serve as cooling centers during the period of extreme heat.
The Avon Senior Center, located at 635 West Avon Road, will be open as a cooling center on Thursday, June 11, and Friday, June 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Residents with questions can contact the center at 860-675-4355.
The Avon Free Public Library, located at 281 Country Club Road, will offer cooling center hours on Thursday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and on Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
