AVON/FARMINGTON, CT — Residents of Avon and Farmington are invited to a community-wide celebration marking America’s 250th birthday with an evening of entertainment, food and fireworks on Friday, June 26.
The event, billed as “Past. Present. Party!,” will take place from 4 to 9:30 p.m. at 99 Thompson Road in Avon. A rain date has been scheduled for Saturday, June 27.
Organizers said the celebration will feature live music, food trucks, vendors, a kids zone and a decade-themed car show.
The evening will conclude with a fireworks display beginning at 9 p.m.
The event is part of the Avon and Farmington CT250 initiative, which commemorates the nation’s semiquincentennial while highlighting the shared history of the neighboring communities.
Organizers are encouraging residents to attend with family and friends and celebrate local heritage and community pride.
Free shuttle buses will run continuously throughout the event from:
• Avon High School - 510 West Avon Road, Avon
• Avon Middle School - 375 West Avon Road, Avon
• Farmington High School - 10 Monteith Drive, Farmington
An ADA-accessible shuttle service will also be available for guests with mobility needs.
Note: Thompson Road will be closed to through traffic during the event. Attendees should follow posted signage and directions from parking attendants and public safety personnel.
