AVON/FARMINGTON, CT — Farmington Community Services and Avon Social Services are teaming up to collect school supplies for local students during a community Back-to-School Drive this weekend.
The drive will be held Saturday, Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Walmart in Avon, 255 W. Main St.
Organizers are asking shoppers to donate new school supplies to help students start the school year prepared and ready to learn.

The event is a joint effort between Farmington Community Services and Avon Social Services, which are encouraging community members to support area families by purchasing and donating school supplies during the collection drive.
