Avon Public Schools Seek 3-Year-Olds For Preschool Program

AVON, CT — Avon Public Schools is accepting applications for 3-year-old peer students to participate in its preschool program for the fall 2026 school year.

Openings are available in the afternoon session only at the Avon Early Learning Center at Roaring Brook School, according to the school district.

Avon's preschool program provides what the district describes as an inclusive, developmentally appropriate, and language-based preschool experience for preschool-age children.

Peer students are selected through a lottery system. Children being considered for placement must meet several requirements:

• Be fully toilet trained.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate language, play, and social skills.
• Be 3 years old by Sept. 1, 2026, to enroll in the 3-year-old program.

Applications are being accepted on an ongoing basis until the program is full.

Families interested in entering their child in the lottery can complete an application through the Avon Public Schools website.
