• Beacon Communities celebrates progress at The Homes at Avon Park (nerej.com) — A major redevelopment at 20 Security Drive is transforming an underused office park into The Homes at Avon Park, bringing 100 mixed-income apartments and significantly expanding Avon's affordable housing stock. A second phase, Avon Village, will add 76 more units by 2028, creating an all-electric, amenity-rich community steps from downtown and the Farmington Canal bike trail.
   

• Northwest Catholic high school football preview 2026 (rep-am.com) — Northwest Catholic's football team, which visits the Avon/St. Paul co-op on Sept. 10, is rebuilding after a state finals run and the graduation of its star quarterback and receiver. With only three starters back, coach Mike Lenz is counting on young skill players and an untested line to keep the Lions competitive in Class M this fall.
