AVON, CT — A portion of Arch Road will close for up to 11 days in September as crews work on an extension of a bike trail, according to the town.
Arch Road will be closed between Old Farms Road and Security Drive beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8, and continuing through Friday, Sept. 18.
A detour will be in place during the closure.
Motorists are being asked to follow posted detour signs and use alternate routes.
Town officials said they hope the construction will be completed before Sept. 18, but the exact reopening date could change because of unforeseen conditions encountered during the work.
The closure is associated with construction of the new bike trail extension.
Questions about the road closure or detour can be directed to the Avon Public Works Department at 860-673-6151.
