Avon Cub Scout Troop 274 Seeks New Members

AVON, CT — Families interested in Cub Scouts will have an opportunity to learn more about Avon Cub Scout Troop 274 during a recruitment event Thursday, Sept. 10.

Troop 274 will hold its Join Night from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at West Avon Congregational Church, 280 Country Club Road.

The program is open to children in kindergarten through fifth grade at Roaring Brook School and Thompson Brook School.

During Join Night, prospective Scouts can participate in a stomp rocket activity, according to an event flyer. Scouts who sign up will also receive a fishing pole.

Troop 274 promotes activities including camping, building and racing derby cars, community service, STEM activities, and museum overnight trips.

Regular troop meetings are held every other Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at West Avon Congregational Church.
