AVON, CT — Avon officials are asking residents to weigh in on a project aimed at modernizing the town's fire facilities as the Avon Town Council considers whether to advance the proposal in the coming months.
Residents are receiving a printed newsletter by U.S. mail this week outlining the project and providing background information about the Avon Volunteer Fire Department facilities.
After reviewing the newsletter and additional information available on the town's fire station project website, residents are being asked to complete an anonymous three-question survey by Friday, Oct. 9.
Residents can respond to the survey by scanning the QR code in the mailed newsletter, visiting the project website at AvonCT.gov/firestation, or returning the prepaid tear-away survey card included with the newsletter.
Town officials said the feedback will be considered as the Town Council weighs the project's future.
"Your input is essential as the Town Council gives serious consideration to advancing this project in the coming months," the town said in its announcement.
The newsletter also includes information about upcoming events where members of the Avon Volunteer Fire Department will be available to discuss the project and answer residents' questions.
Officials are encouraging residents to review the materials before completing the survey to learn more about the reasons behind the proposed modernization and changes to the town's fire facilities.
