Recent Death Notices From Avon

Condolences are extended to the families and friends of those who have recently died in Avon.

AVON, CT — Avon death notices as of Sept. 11, 2026:

• Suzette Elsie Wolber-Bonafe, 79, died Sept. 10. She worked for the Visiting Nurses of Central Connecticut before becoming a preschool teacher and later devoted herself to raising her two daughters, Colleen and Kerri. She had battled cancer for two years.

• Guy C. Peregrin, 75, died Aug. 10. Born and raised in Bayonne, New Jersey, he is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jane Ellen (Fee) Peregrin, his son Brendan of Avon, and his daughter Elizabeth of Farmington.

• Lois Ann (Wojtanowicz) Huot, 82, died Aug. 3. A valedictorian of her Holyoke High School class, she earned a bachelor's degree from Smith College and a law degree summa cum laude from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1977, then spent most of her career in corporate law with Orion Capital. She raised her family in Simsbury. She is survived by three sons and several grandchildren.

• Barbara Ruth (Young) Nevins, 89, died March 29. She is survived by her children, Amy Marier of Spotsylvania, Virginia, James Nevins IV of Brooklyn, New York, and Geoffrey Nevins of Avon, along with six grandchildren.

• Elizabeth Saylor Manson, 86, died March 22. She worked as a cook manager for the Avon School District for more than 35 years and was a dedicated Jehovah's Witness. She is survived by her children, Linda Manson of Farmington and Evelyn Manson-Miller of Rocky Hill, along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
